  1. How has CMC transform the dynamics of interaction?
  • CMC would gradually improve one's language because one has the privilege to edit and become more aware i.e web chat, instant messaging (phone to phone). For example, Warschauer (2006) conducted several case studies on using email or discussion boards in different language classes. Warschauer (2006) claimed that information and communications technology “bridge the historic divide between speech … and writing”. Thus, considerable concern has arisen over the reading and writing research in L2 due to the booming of the Internet.
  • CMC would build one's confidence after a period of time.
  • It is easier to communicate among people; can meet via online anywhere, anytime as long as there' is internet.
  • CMC would be a substitute of face-to-face interaction; could help an introvert to overcome his/her shyness.
  • Information transfer becomes more efficient (at the tip of your finger!) i.e via computer, forums, blogs etc.

    2. How has this transformation shape society?

**there are many pros and cons to this such as:
  • Technology savy as people would be more opinion-oriented, no hierarchy because people would express their feeling/ideas without having to worry over their status.
  • Identity theft would emerge, so as the increment of web cyber crimes.

    3. Is this mode of communication in syncs with Islam?
  • Boundaries: Islam promotes communicating with others but we must adhere to Islamic teachings such as being mindful of your words and manners towards others. Morality in Islam addresses every aspect of a Muslim’s life, from greetings to international relations. A Muslim is expected to not only be virtuous, but to also enjoin virtue. He/She must not only refrain from evil and vice, but must also actively engage in asking people to eschew them. In other words, they must not only be morally healthy, but must also contribute to the moral health of society as a whole.
  • Privacy: everything that we post up online would be viewed to the public, hence it is very important to keep out from telling others your privacy and also what belongs to other person. As a wise says, “It is unworthy of a Muslim to injure people's reputation; it is unworthy to curse anyone; it is unworthy to abuse anyone; and it is unworthy of a Muslim to talk vainly.”
